Natural Disaster Relief

When it comes to natural disasters the United States has it’s share. Globally there are lots of natural disasters, many of which we may not be seen on the news. Natural disasters are widespread and costly in lives and property. How we respond to a natural disaster has a big impact on the entire community people for years to come. A large hurricane can remove a town from the map for generations.

Collecting and sharing data before, during and after natural disasters enables researchers to study many aspects of a natural disaster. Areas such as human behavior, equitable asset allocation, communication between people and organizations, accountability, and logistics. All facets of a natural disaster response should be in a constant state of analysis and improvement.

Common Natural Disasters

  • Earthquakes
  • Tornado

  • Wildfires
  • Flooding

Home stores play a key roll in the preparation and recovery from disasters. Disaster supplies is almost always in short supply and needed right up to the time of a predictable disaster. A natural disaster is a major adverse event resulting from natural processes of the Earth; examples include firestorms, dust storms, floods, hurricanes, tornadoes, volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, tsunamis, storms, and other geologic processes. A natural disaster can cause loss of life or damage property, and typically leaves some economic damage in its wake, the severity of which depends on the affected population’s resilience and on the infrastructure available.

PubSafe is looking for sponsors such as Home Depot, Lowes, Rural King, ACE Hardware, Harbor Freight, Target, Walmart and Tractor Supply.

Natural Disaster Coordination

Cross Agency and Organization Coordination

A big challenge when responding to natural disasters is communication. There are many platforms and methods of communication. It may be impossible to bring people together quickly and cost effectively. Communication between government, citizens and volunteer organizations is a major challenge. All parties involved need the assistance of the others in a natural disaster and at varying degrees.

PubSafe provides a very cost effective platform for communicating and sharing real-time information.  Every PubSafe user is a data contributor as well as a potential rescuers or helping hand. People can quickly and easily join the PubSafe community by scanning a barcode or sharing a link.

Government Response To Natural Disasters

Governments around the globe play a key role in natural disaster response. Often times only a government has the people, skills and resources to respond. History has shown us that even the US Government cannot do it alone so partnerships form with organizations like the Red Cross, Americas Cajun Navy, Team Rubicon and local individual citizens.

The PubSafe platform provides a single location where every asset (human and other) can be viewed without complicated and expensive equipment, communication fees or processes. A PubSafe team can be created for a specific event and contain up to 35,000 members. Once the event is over, the team can be deleted.
